Winning at the Matamata-Piako Business Awards

Matamata-Piako Business Awards

We went along to a local business awards night… and accidentally cleaned the whole thing up.

We picked up the New & Emerging Business Award, which we were already pretty stoked about… then later on, they called our name again for the Bayleys Supreme Business Award.

Safe to say, we weren't expecting that.

Massive shoutout to Manpreet Singh and Kamal Kaur, our OG Matamata franchisees. These two helped kick things off in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty and built one of our strongest regions from the ground up.

The whole thing started a few years back in a much less glamorous way.

Ethan and Alyssa were in Australia when COVID hit, job gone overnight. Not ideal.

So they came back to NZ and thought, "right, guess we're starting a cleaning company."

At the time, the industry had a few issues. Clients were over inconsistent service, and cleaners were over being underpaid and under-supported.

So Clean Boss was built to fix both.

No big funding, no shortcuts. Just hard work and a simple idea… treat people properly, pay them what they're worth, and the results take care of themselves.

From small one-off jobs to commercial sites across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty, things grew. Slowly, then properly.

Now it's a full operation, and somehow we're picking up awards along the way.

For us, this one means a lot.

Not just the win, but what it represents. A business built the right way, creating real opportunities, and proving you can grow without cutting corners.

Next stop… Waikato Business Awards.

But for now, we're just proud. Of the team, the journey, and everything that's gone into getting here.
