Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly: What's the Right Cleaning Rhythm for You?

Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly: What's the Right Cleaning Rhythm for You?

There is no universally correct answer to how often you should get your house cleaned. There is only the answer that fits how you actually live, and the mistake almost everyone makes is picking a frequency based on the person they wish they were rather than the one who leaves dishes in the sink. Then the clean never quite keeps up, and it feels like the service is failing when really the schedule was just optimistic.

So be honest with yourself for thirty seconds, and this gets a lot easier. Here is who each rhythm is genuinely for.

Weekly

For busy households, families with young kids, or anyone who genuinely does zero upkeep between visits and knows it. It is the most expensive option per month, but each visit is quick and light precisely because the place never gets the chance to slide into chaos. If your home is a disaster zone by Wednesday no matter how the week started, weekly is not indulgent, it is just realistic, and you will get more value from it than you expect.

Fortnightly

The sweet spot for most working couples and professionals, and where the majority of our regulars land. It keeps the kitchen and bathrooms honest without paying for a weekly visit you do not strictly need, as long as you can manage a light tidy in between, wiping a bench, not letting the washing mountain form. It is the setting that feels like the house is quietly handled without feeling like overkill.

Monthly

For smaller households, or genuinely tidy people who do their own bits and just want a proper reset once a month to get the stuff they never get to. Each visit takes a bit longer and costs a little more per clean, because there is more built up by the time we arrive, but spread across the month it is the cheapest option going. If you are house-proud and just want backup, this is your setting.

You can change your mind

None of this is a life sentence, and there is no lock-in. Loads of clients start fortnightly, then bump up or down once reality has had its say and they see how it actually fits their week. Start with your best honest guess, and we will adjust it once you have lived with it a couple of times. The right rhythm is the one you stop thinking about, and finding it usually takes one small tweak, not a big decision.
